At the Point Cook Aviators Baseball & Softball Club, progress has always been about building something bigger than a single season. It’s about growing the game, strengthening the community, and creating opportunities for more people to step onto the diamond. This winter marks an exciting new chapter for the club as we work towards launching our first ever women’s baseball team.

For many years, baseball pathways for women and girls have continued to expand across Australia. Participation is growing, visibility is increasing, and more clubs are recognising the importance of creating spaces where women can compete, develop, and enjoy the game. The Aviators want to be part of that movement.

Starting a new team is never just about filling a roster. It’s about creating a culture from the ground up — one built on support, development, and a shared love of the game. Whether players are completely new to baseball, returning after time away, or transitioning from other sports, the goal is simple: build something together from day one.

The club is inviting women of all experience levels to come down, have a hit, meet the community, and be part of the journey. There’s something special about being involved in a team from its very beginning — setting the standards, creating the traditions, and writing the first chapter of its story.

For the Aviators, this is more than a new team. It’s a step forward for the club and for the game locally.
